Hello! My name is Shannon Morse. I'm a video host for a bunch of online podcasts about technology and geekery. I'm currently living in San Francisco and I'm involved in several shows. I've very much grown up as a geek my whole life and I'm trying to influence more young women to consider the fields of technology for their futures. If you've seen my last two blog posts, you know my Papa JD was in the hospital with a rare disease called AIP. He passed away on May 18th. Given that most folks who get AIP live for about 1.5 months, it goes without saying that my grandfather was strong and willing to live. He survived for almost a year.

My entire family misses him greatly, but I'm also very fortunate I was able to say goodbye to him a few months ago. We shared a few conversations and some laughs. He was in high spirits all the way to his last day. It was his choice to depart, and he waited until he was ready. 

I love you Papa JD.
